0.45mm PU Coated Fiberglass Fabric Cloth For Welding Spatter Sparks Protection
Polyurethane Coated Fabric Introduction
Wingsec PU (polyurethane) coated fiberglass cloth is a woven fiberglass cloth base coated on one or both sides with a specially formulated gray polyurethane coating. The PU-coated fiberglass cloth has a basis weight of 460 g/m². The base fabric utilizes a satin (cross twill) 3732 weave with a basis weight of 430 g/m² and a thickness of 0.43 mm. When coated with 15 g/m² of gray PU coating on each side, the total basis weight reaches 460 g/m² and a thickness of 0.45 mm.
A unique feature of PU-coated fiberglass cloth is that, while conventional coated fiberglass cloth typically requires operating temperatures below 260°C, PU coatings can withstand transient high temperatures of up to 1100°C. This makes it ideal for use as welding spark/splash shields, as well as fire blankets, welding blankets, and protective curtains. Coated fiberglass cloth also offers chemical resistance, electrical insulation, high strength, a non-itching feel, and a variety of colors.

Polyurethane Coating Cloth Features
Application
Welding Protection & Heat Shields
PU coated fiberglass cloth is commonly used for welding curtains, blankets, and heat shields. The coating provides excellent resistance to molten metal splashes, sparks, and high temperatures up to around 180–200°C continuously (and short bursts up to 260°C).

Advantages of Fiberglass Cloth
Fiberglass fabric remains the most commonly used reinforcement material in the composites industry. Fiberglass is the lowest-cost and easiest to process of all reinforcement materials. Furthermore, when combined with resin, fiberglass fabric offers strength, light weight, and excellent appearance.
When selecting industrial fiberglass fabric, many specific parameters need to be considered. These parameters can be categorized into four basic variables: yarn weight, warp count, weave pattern, and fabric surface treatment.
The wide variation in fiberglass yarn weight and warp count provides the basis for fabric design. Together, yarn weight and warp count determine the fabric's strength, weight, and thickness.
Fiberglass fabric is manufactured using basic weave types. There are five basic weave patterns for industrial fiberglass fabric: plain, twill, satin, leno, and basket weave.
The fabric structure is determined by the number of warp and weft yarns per inch of fabric and the weave pattern.
The surface treatment of fiberglass fabric is important. Most applications require the use of a coating material with the fiberglass fabric. For compatibility with resin coating, organic coating or post-treatment, perform surface treatment.
